Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola believes Spain deserve to be crowned Euro 2024 champions and believes England can achieve the same feat in the future.
Spain have won their fourth European Cup after beating England 2-1 in the final in mid-July, making it seven straight wins.
Guardiola believes the English passion for football, which has often weighed heavily on their players at tournaments, will prove a more uplifting factor this time.
“I see the reaction when they play European Cups or World Cups, people go crazy on the streets. They go crazy for the national team,” Guardiola said.
“That proves how proud they are and, at the end of the day, as a football player, that is the best, your country is proud of what you are doing for your country, and the way you are playing, reaching the last stages.
Pep said of the Euros: “I think the best team in the tournament won it. I don’t think there’s any doubt that Spain were excellent in all aspects and in all the games. It’s not easy to win seven out of seven games.”
“But at the same time ยูฟ่าเบท, the connections I’ve had in England, and all the players over the years, I think it’s a huge achievement, and to reach two finals is a great achievement.”
“I think that’s a good lesson for the future (to help us win trophies),” the City boss concluded.
Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola is leading the team to a pre-season game in the United States against Celtic of Scotland on Tuesday, July 23, on Wednesday.
